Well it seems that hydroracer has outgrown its shared hosting situation. We are now getting over 5 million hits a month!!! Some of you may have noticed a "resources exceeded" message recently. I have personally gotten it a couple of times. Or a page unavailable message is the other thing I have gotten.
While that is good in the promotion of our sport, it does have some drawbacks.
It is substantially more expensive to get a dedicated server. While we have a little in reserve for hosting and licensing it won't be enough to cover the expenses for the upcoming year.
It is time for our annual membership drive to get 2013 team members and I am hoping that everyone can step up and send a few dollars each so that we can continue to keep the site up and running. Any help that can be offered is always greatly appreciated. You can use google checkout for team memberships or paypal for donations. If you prefer a snail mail address, private message me and I will provide one.
For anyone who wonders what that money goes towards, it is hosting, software licensing, domain registration and security and back up of the site, there is no adminstrator pay for doing this job or purchasing computers to run it. (That is why I still have a full time job!) This is truly a labor of love kept alive with donations from folks that use the site.
Thanks for all you do
Teresa
