I recently got an old DeSiva that according to Ralph DeSilva, was originally purchased by Ray Yates of Texas in 1977. Does anyone know him and/or have contact info on him? Thanks

Ray Yates
David, Ray Yates race for many years. Was member of the Baytown Boat Club,Highlands Tx. If I remember he only ran runabouts. God that been a long time back.
Last time I saw him was at the club reunion some time around Feb 2006.
Ray was great guy and loved boat racing. I believe he passed away in AUG. 2010.
Go to BRF and you can read all about him.

Ray did die a while back. Which boat did you get? Ray Sr. had a DeSilva he ran his C on, then Little Ray had a smaller he ran the A on. Both were purchased about 1977. I believe Ray Sr. sold his to Red Adair for a while, then bought it back. After he got it back you could still see 'Adair' underneath the paint job.

fastjohn... This is Ray Yates JR...... your comment on looking for me was just forwarded to me..
I loved that boat and can fill you in if still interested. If you still have it look at the patch on the bottom.... you will see "cockpit error" written in pencil before it was expoxied over... A everlasting jab at me from Artie Lund, who did the repair. Those years were the best times of our lives (Mom, Dad, myself) and all the others that loyally followed us around to pit for us. The Pilkingtons, Levines, Haslers, McBrides, and many more. My cell is 713 816-4785.
