  • Thank you Dave Bennett

A few days ago somebody (we are hoping accidently) walked away with Marlee Hill's best prop. It was the one she planned to run on the AXR. The announcers have begged over the loud speaker for the return of the prop and we have combed the pits searching with no luck.

At the qualifier's banquet it was announced last night with no success. Dave Bennett stood up before the crowd and said " I will build her a new prop ". What a generous offer from Dave Bennett! I look around the room and saw many many people with eyes filling up when Dave made such a generous offer.

When you see Dave Bennet and are congratulating him on the many wins this week for Bennett Boats, please also thank him for his generous offer to Marlee Hill.

    THANK YOU DAVE BENNETT!!!!!!

No Luck eh? I figured Dean's speech would have prompted a return. Just a question could it have been accidentally picked up by someone who had already left? I REALLY hate to think someone would purposefully walked away with her prop....a sore spot on an otherwise well run and attended Stock Outboard Nationals!

We are still holding on to hope that it was an accident.

As far as the running of the Nationals, it was superb! The people of Grass Lake have been wonderful to us and the race comittee has been outstanding!

Aside from the prop, this has been a great National event.

I must say though that Tracy Trolian has worked tirelessy, and has handled scoring and racing well. It can't be easy to be the scorer and fierce competitor at the same time. Thanks Tracy!!

This prop will show up. I've had my equipment scattered, smothered and covered in a race weekend and it always makes it back to me.

If it does not show, a spectator grabbed it.

Way back in the old days, mid 1960's Nate Walters, of Hahn and Walters Mercury dealer in Milwaukee had a KG-4 come in for service with a stolen propeller. A spectator grabbed it. Nate knowing it was missing, confiscated the prop and got it back to it's owner.

Way to go Dave on stepping up.

Someone "accidentally" grabbed a boat cart from us last night too. I hope this isn't a common trend with boat racing these days.

Its awesome Dave Bennett stepped up the way he did, classy guy he is.
