Spent every afternoon playing in the creek with a hydro. Those were the days.
I also mowed lawns in the mornings to buy gas for my KG7 which I ran on a Jinx. The average lawn paid a buck and a quarter. Raking was another 50 cents. I now wonder what the heck has happened in this country. If kids were as ambitious as we were there wouldn't be all the lawn care companies we have now. Us kids competed for lawn customers and had a lawn mowing route so to speak and shoveled those customers driveways in the winter. I am not so sure my step kids would know which end of the shovel to hold. That's alright though, mowing and shoveling keeps me young.

I also used plain 30 weight which was the norm in those days and tore down that Hurricane every winter to de-carbonize and unstick the rings. I also bought a Michigan Wheel custom made for my setup for $25 from a dealer in Essex Ct. Those were the days.
