  • Does anyone else like bikes?

These are a couple of bike I built last summer. I picked 20 bikes out of the scrap yard last summer. I fix them up and sell them for what I have in to them in parts. Some of them are just riders, some are theme bikes, some have motors and some just hang in the shed.

    One of a kinders.

I love those bikes. Are they of your own design? The first two, anyway. I can remember when the 'two wheel drive' one on the bottom was for sale. Refresh me...was it the 'Husky'?

I'd like to see that second one go around the velodrome they are building down here, haha.

Cool bikes Matt. Your mind is amazing... they need a Discovery show based from your shop. lol.

I tried to make the blue bike look like a 1920's board track racer. I started with a beach cruiser and turned the handle bars around. Made the fuel tank. Put some lightening holes in the chain guard. Used a bathroom grab rail as a seat post. Cut everyother tooth off the front chain ring. I am working on a twist throttle and clutch with hidden cables. The only thing I bought were the cream tires. Everything else came from the scrap yard.

The yellow bike is a 1971 rokon trailbreaker Hunter Grimes gave me. It was missing a lot of the running gear. I cut and stretched the frame 5" to fit the honda 4 stroke motor in.

Love Bikes... been riding since I was 5.

That second photo is a winner! I'd love to throw a leg over that. I'm grinning ear to ear just thinking about it

          Nice work!

I like the board track copy!
The first photo is my winter bike loaded for a camping trip 2 weekends ago. Two wheel drive Ural, made in Russia [CCCP for all us older people] .

The second photo is my summer bike.

I have an extra set if you think you can make them work. They fit in a 7/8 inch ID bar but you should be able to modify them to fit a smaller bar. $10 including shipping sound good?

                    Way Cool!!!!!!!

By owning a high end bicycle shop (The Racer's Edge) and enjoying track days and the occasional race with my Ducati 848, I can say I am a huge fan of what you are doing. The blue one is awesome! Here is a link to some of the custom and semi-custom bikes that we have built for some better known athletes. www.theracersedge.net/gallery.htm?mtn

Very nice bikes John. I have wanted to build a carbon frame for a long time. Just curious, what would an average priced FRAME cost(no running gear)? How much does it weigh? Just so I can compare $ per pound against my boats.

Here is a pic of the Rokon before paint. I burnt my leg more than once on the exhaust which was just a piece of electrical conduit. The other pic didnt show the the wheels that I marbled. 750 triumph trident triple in the background. Nothing like the bowl loosening roar of the dunstall silencer and the smell of av gas as you blow blow by a rice burner

This was also built at the arltralite shop a few years ago. My friend Hector's 1931 model A tudor with a 500ci Cadillac motor with dual side draft carbs and a carbon fiber roof
