        The Schwarzenbach Family

I have not spoken to any of the Schwarzenbach's since they went to Georgia. Mickey was going to be in the BRP School and Apple Valley Marine was going to be closed til the first of the year, 2012.

The Schwarzenbach Family and the Hill Family go way back.

Dan Schwarzenbach carried me to my AU, in the rain, at Worchester, Massachusetts Stock Nationals, 1957. Danny Schwarzenbach was Mr. 36 Runabout in SoCAL. He was Commodore of the club, his cronies, were race chairmen, fund raisers, patrol boat people and general hard workers.

After 36 Runabout wass dropped by APBA, Southern California Racig never recovered. Mickey continued to race for several years. He still has his Russ Hill D-36 Runabout hanging in his mother's garage. He and Tito Smith dream of bringing 36 Runabout back.

For the last 5 years, Mickey and Vicky have kept our Enduro Boat going. Chad and Pat Bowman won the Enduro in 2006. The #28 was 5th in class this year with Ben Marrone and Tony Scaralata driving. Mike Quindazzi drove the #28 at the Thanksgiving Reagatt, this year.

My Stoker, is called The Apple Valley Marine Speical, #28. 28-C was Mickey's number. Vickey and Mickey run a very HONEST Boat repair shop in Apple Valley, Mickey is an excellent mechanic. They are about 100 miles from my shop. They have five acres, about one acre is covered with my stuff.

We (All SoCal) were so proud of Matthew becoming a U.S. Army soldier. He is a good young man. The Schwarzenbach daughter is going to give AXS and A Hydro a try next year.

It is a SMALL world, Bill!

        The Schwarzenbach's a great family!!!
