  • Cars Of Cuba

I just returned from a religious education trip to Cuba. I've got about 700 photos overall. Here are 65 photos of some of the thousands of 50's American cars, still running, there. ENJOY !!!

Really cool cars! Thanks for sharing those pictures.
There's a few oldies in Ecuador, but not nearly as many, or as nice as those in Cuba.
I think down in the southern regions, nothing rusts. Oddly enough.

Hmmmm - and I suppose all those folks standing around have a JOB?

Scary - Could this fate be in store for us in the future?

At least these are simple, fixable machines, no wonder they are still running.

You think that the current computer controlled automotive emissions will be around 40 years from now?? I doubt it. The level of expertise in automotive is pretty low. I deal with marine engine problems daily and see some pretty unbelievable things.

The general conditions you see in these pictures is enough to scare the bejeesus out of me, and its happening here now in the US.

I live in the Pensacola Florida area, a little town named Milton. In the paper almost EVERY DAY there's a drive by, murder, gunfight or somesuch in Pensacola. Saturday about a mile from here as the crow flies in Milton as an attempt to serve a warrant was made, he came out shootin', 2 in critical condition - -

        So, yes, I pray.

Most of them have been converted to deisel. It's 0.5cuc / liter. That's less than $2.00/gallon.
