All clear here in the city ;-) no power loss over night with just a slight up tick in the wind. The afternoon should be sunny highs in the 80's

Annapolis MD 9:30 am 466,000+ without power locally, that's over a third of all local customers (BGE claims 100,000+ have been restored already), 193,000+ without power in the DC area.
Sunny with steady light rain, no steady wind, occasional 3 or 4 mph gusts. Tree leaves and small branches everywhere, it was a good thing we moved everything away from the big trees here. The road is wet and traffic is heavier than normal for Sunday AM. I guess people are out looking for another dozen eggs to add to the dozen they already have ... the locals here are hoarders.
It might make the news where you are that our local nuke plant went off line ... it was because some metal siding blew off another building in the facility, and landed in the main transformer compound and shorted the works out ... causing auto shut down of the reactor ... nothing actually related to the reactor itself and reactor #2 stayed on line at 100%.
1:00pm update 475,000 BGE, 180,000 Pepco
Wind has shifted to the north at 15 and trying to dry out, rain has stopped, sun is gone. More branches to fall in the coming hours.Last edited by sam; 08-28-2011, 09:52 AM.

The power went out about 11 pm & just came back on in central Jersey. 15 miles in from the Ocean: can't say it was actually a hurricane here but a good windy storm with tremendous rain. My trees have been de-twig-d & dropped green acorns all over the place but are all still up. I ran a generator to watch tv, keep the refrigerator going & run a fan [the humidity was sickening]. Its cool cloudy & breezy now & all is well. Thanks for the well wishes & I hope all along the shore are ok & return to an intact home.Team Tower

We just got power back here in Moorhead City NC (most likely temporally) after 2 days without. Pretty wild ride for a while we had a lot of water, the tide came in just after the eye passed thru. We all made it thru ok (my parents, wife, kids, sister, dog and the ducks) lots of tree damage, Johnny and I broke 4 kites in 10 minutes and it looks like allstate and me are going to put a new roof on my house!
All the boats at the marina made it thru and both hydros too! I’ll try to post some pix when i get back in my office.
A BIG thanks to everyone who called and checked on us and offered us a place to go. We appreciate that more than you will ever know.

Glad to hear your doing ok so far. As you said lets all hope all can return home soon for those who left during this time and come home to things still in tack.
