Getting the crap kicked out of us in Hampton VA. Water, wind, tide, but the good news is Joyce made it to the store for BEER !!!!!!!!!!! Oh, and she got some bread and water too. Good luck to everyone.

Jerry, Joyce and one happy but very wet Chance.

Blowing pretty good here east to Baltimore. I'm sticking the new GoPro camera on the back door and doing a time lapse sequence until it gets dark or the battery runs out.

Annapolis MD 4:00 got our first 50+ mph gust. Still a lot of traffic on the road in front of us.

Now 6,000 neighbors without power. Split about half north of us and half south.

                To my west ...

1,000 of Dan's neighbors in Silver Spring don't have power ... 8,000 total out on the MD side of DC. Their power company (Pepco) sucks at repairs. Even light wind and light rain do this much to them!

4:17 update ... lights blinked for the first time.

Now heavy bands of rain are falling timed to when I go out to look around. I just came in & its tapering off. The wind is just showing signs of strength but no more than 20mph yet. I can see erosion as a problem

Annapolis MD 9:00pm steady wind about 15, regular gusts to 25-30, occasionally 40-45. 61,000 neighbors without power, more to the north than south. The smaller Pepco served area around DC to my west has 30,000 out. My big sump pump is running about every 3 minutes, the french drain is covering the other side of my house, that pump has not had to run despite the large amount of water running into that sump. The temperature has been steady all day since it started raining ... still exactly 69°

9:17 update ... power is out across the street from me. First time I've had the pleasure of not seeing the street lights shining in my windows from the new development in years.

The power is down locally according to my sons & their friends texting back & forth. It isn't really windy yet but is picking up.

Annapolis MD 11:00 wind and rain about the same, pumps running the same. Barometer 29.10, has been steady for 3 hours

118,000 without power locally, 52,000 around DC

going to bed unless power goes out and I have to start generator to keep the pump going
