Aww he was just ticked because he didn't get to drive my Rent-A-Dee (with power steering) at Standish. He's going to be just fine once they tighten up that fuel line.

        Bills updated condition

Brenda has been kind enough to share Bills updated condition....

Today is Friday, Just came back, and he is now off the ventilator, and has a oxyzen mask on. He is still very very confused. Doug and I had to keep repeating where he was and what had happened. But, just before we left we saw a dim ray of light. After once again, telling him that he just had open heart surgery and they had to open his chest and that was why he was in pain.. He seemed to understand that they had opened his chest and I quote "OH ##HIT!!!! came out of his mouth. Which lead Doug and I to understand that he was understanding what we were saying. Will try to keep you informed of anything new in my new list of friends for Bill's problems. Please enjoy the weather, and have a fun weekend, life to just to unknown not to enjoy......For those who have no idea about what this is about......Write a email and I will tell you of Bill's Thursday and Brenda's nightmare........Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers.... I go by "every little bit helps" Love to you all,
        Brenda

              Update...

              Most recent update from Brenda...

Sunday, was the best day ever, he is eating ( if you call cream of wheat eating) no more clear liquid nutrients in a bag. But he still has enough wires and tubes to look like a human facsimile of our computer at home. No oxygen mask. He is now initiating conversations. Teasing his nurses, and giving us a hard time.....He is doing great... More news as it happens...Keep thinking of him so he gets out of there, that trip into Brighton and home is getting Really old.. I really prefer tree lined, 2 line roads. Take care, Love to you all

Get well soon Mr. Giles. Best story he told me is when he ran into to somebody I knew, but havn't seen in 15 yrs. at a shoe store in Rhode Island. The most intrigueing part is how did he start a conversation to get to the point where my buddy said, "oh yea, I know Matt Gallagher!" Hope you get home soon.

                    Speedy Recovery

Bill, I'm glad to hear that you are slowly coming back. I know the feeling of coming out of a coma and have someone explain "so that's what happened." You are a true legend in the sport, a top-flight driver and a great guy and friend. I'll be thinking of you often and sending good wishes and prayers for a speedy recovery.
                    All my best,
                    Hunt

                          Mr. Bill,

We were shocked to hear the news, but are very pleased to hear that you are on the mend. I keep thinking of the photo they took at Springfiled Lake last summer with you, Jack Brewster, and John Maddrell. A great trio. We need to keep you all going.....

Hope to see you back in the pits soon. All the best.
