  • Bob Minton passed away

I am so sorry to report that Bob Minton passed away on Wednesday evening March 9th. Anyone who knew him will remember Bob as great, all-around nice guy. Bob was origionaly my partner in racing CSH and DSH in the late 60s and early 70s. Later, Bob partnered with Bud Pinto when they presented the racing-world with Casey, Bob's son.
There will be a service on Monday March 14th at Tomlinson's Funeral Home 2207 Bristol Pike (rt 13) 19020, Bensalem, PA 19020 6:00 to 8:00 in the evening .

Our condolences to Bob's Family. I have many great memories of when I started racing CSH against Bob and the other "old guys" (they were in there early thirties!) around 1973. After just about every race for those first couple of years Bob would make sure to stop by and politely offer his constructive criticism for the day, while I was busily patching the chine or installing a new air trap or duck taping the canvas deck back on the '71 Sidson. To say the least Bob and I were on two very different sides of the spectrum. Rest in Peace, Bob

My condolences to the Minton Famiy. I met Bob back in the '70s, he and his family lived just down the street from me, when I lived in PA. He was quite helpfull in my short racing career. I always liked Bob, this is truly sad news.

              Bob

Sorry to hear about Bob's passing. Quick funny story in my memory.....One year in Collingswood, 18-P and myself decided between heats that he wanted to drive my Austin and I wanted to drive his Feby boat. Needless to say, the judges stand figured it out and Bob let Greg and I know how he felt about our little stunt ( we almost got ourselves beached).
Our codolences to the Minton family. Race in peace Bob.

                      Dr. Splash, Ill miss you.

Of the many boat racers I have had the pleasure to travel with, Bob Minton ranks at the top. If I decided to go to a race, but had made no advance plans, a trip to Grand Rapids, Mich., say: Bob was the one to call. No fuss, just try to remember the trailer.
Once having just arrived east from Bakersfield and wanting to go to Top O Michigan, I decided that another 15-16 hours of driving on top of a 55-60 hour trek east might tax my entusiasm.
I called Bob and asked him if he wanted to go to a race. "Okay," was his reply. "I'll be there in an hour," I said. After a pause, Bob came back, "where are we going." "The marathons," I said. Another pause, "Okay."

                      Casey, Bart , best wishes.
