    Vision Quest

    Right on Jerry, Vision Quest!

You and I just watched it and got fired up, Thomas just lived it!, lol

This was Thomas first trip to state, he was upset last year in the regional semi's. Additionally, at his weight, 135lb, he had not one, but two defending State Champions from the previous year, including the kid he beat in the finals!
Thomas was not even scored on until the finals!

He is a freak, god given talent combined with desire and drive!

    Thomas is Shute

Unfortunately the family is all in agreement that the only way I can trump Thomas now on the family accomplishments list is if I beat Hearn’s HOC record of 38, or whatever it is. I guess sometimes you have to settle for second place. Either way it was a pretty awesome experience to watch and be apart of. Like in racing, it’s great to see hard work pay off for someone.

Ps. He did qualify as a sophomore but lost first round.

Coming from a former Neenah Rocket grad, way to go Thomas, pretty darn good for a "Blue Jay". Congrats, Mark OB

          A "Beast"

Thomas Allen is a “Beast”. Second State Champion ever for Menasha and the first one in 34 years. Krysti Allen was a senior that year!
Great match & a great career at Menasha with numerous school records including most wins (145), Wisconsin Division-1 Folkstyle State Championship and Wisconsin Greco State Championship.
The entire Allen family missed 2 tournements in 4 years and that was when Donny was getting inducted into the Hall of Champions. Great support just like in racing.

I know there are some good wrestler/boat racers from the past. Dewald, Crowley, Southerland and the late Michael Kench come to mind. How many won a High School State Championship?

Thomas still has a ways to go...

I am not even in the same league at Thomas as a Wrestler, but..... he is not the best wrestling racer "yet"?

Peter Horst is the best that I know of. He originally wrestled for Penn State, then transferred to Old Dominion. I cut and pasted his accomplishments from the Old Dominion site below.

Horst finished 6th in the Nation, and was an all American. I remember following him that year as I was wrestling as a freshman in college when he was a senior. He was in the hardest weight class in the nation. Competing against the Brands brothers at Iowa and Gilbert at U-M. He was ranked third most of the year behind those two.

"Horst captured the NCAA East Regional title and compiled a 33-9-1 record. He won the Mat Town Championship, and the Eastern Nationals title. Horst advanced to the NCAA National Championships in Iowa City, IA. He would finish sixth and earn All-American honors. That same year, the Monarch wrestling squad would finish 20th nationally."

Time to set some new goals Thomas

Good luck at the next level!
