Krysti Allen just got home from Orville, California with the results from the David Kargus benefit/raffle.
First, our family would like to thank everyone who helped and participated in the raffle. We as a family still miss Dave very much but greatly appreciate everything everyone in the racing community has done for Dave and for his children. 45 is way too young! The proceeds from the raffle will be going to Dave & Jill’s two children, Brian (19) and Amy (13).
We would like to extend a very special thank you Frank & Wanda Zorkan for everything they have done. The Kargus/Zorkan family relationship, a friendship that dates back to the 1977 nationals in Bakersfield, CA, is a lifelong bond. When Dave passed away, Frank & Wanda started the benefit by offering to build a boat. Wanda also donated some of her beautiful jewelry.
We would also like to thank Cooper Jess and Ernie Dawe who worked very hard to help put the raffle together. Lastly, thank you to Sea-Way Marine & Lifeline for their generous donations. I know there are many others; too many to list including each and every person that purchased a ticket so please know our family says a heartfelt “Thank You”! Boat racing and the boat racing community has always been a huge part of our lives and always will be.
