I stop by the first ever wake boarding event held in the DC area this afternoon, this site has got powerboat race written all over it! All we need now is APR and USTS to make the nations capitol a tour stop for 2011

    Event info:

The banks of the Potomac are about to see something special. Red Bull athletes and Professional Wakeboarders Brian Grubb, Parks Bonifay, JD Webb, and Adam Errington are taking their beloved sport to National Harbor in Washington, DC. They will fly, they will soar, they will wow the crowd with wild airs and double overhead sprays of the Potomac River.

These tremendous water athletes will be flying off of custom made features built especially for National Harbor. Towed by Red Bull Waverunners, Grub, Bonifay, Webb and Errington, along with some local wakeboarders, will put on quite a show for National Harbor visitors.

Good! I like your Facebook comments about this venue.

Thanks for keeping boat racing on people's minds and trying to spread it.

Sam, I'm going to call Sam and Sherron next week when they are back from Memphis. This site has tons of potential ! less then 5 mins off the Beltway in a protected cove I'm sure you know the area. I would love to arrange a meeting for both USTS and APR officials to meet with the Harbor folks.

The huge crowd on hand today went nuts when the announcer said "see you in 2011"

By the time event kicked off at 3pm the area in this clip was packed shoulder to shoulder and the crowd love it!

Like always, what we'd really need is a sponsor ... but that location might be sponsor friendly ... heck you might be able to paddle up the Potomac to the Swedish embassy and get them to sponsor something ... there is a lot of potential in that area
