Bought a $100 ticket at local gun club shoot (Corry Rod+ Gun Club, Corry, Pa.).....but lady luck was not with me.
They had clay pigeons go'n and turkey shoots...plus tons of draw'ns....wish I took my camera!!!!........Any other events?

Was gonn'a take my Grandfather's old "Fox/Savage" double barrel ta try out..

Made the first trip of the year. While y'all was freezing in Franklin, we were having a grand old time in the U.P. for the duck opener. We did very well, and had a blast. It is fun to get a group of boat racers together and go hunting. We all stayed in one cabin, and the stories flowed. Once I get the pics developed, I will see if I can post a couple. I onyl took a cheap toss away because my luck is not so great with good camera in the duck boat !

This is not a buck but hope a bull is OK. He is in our yard about a hundred feet from our house right now.

A week into rifle season and we saw the same group of elk again, it was pretty dark but I don't think the bull was with them. They should pass through again in a couple of days perhaps we can get a better look.

I run a Beavertail 1750 with a 27HP Kohler long tail mud motor. Motor soon to be producing 45HP. I am tired of being stuck in the mud with Oleary laughing at me. Do you know how embarassing it is for a Mod guy to be leaving his hunting rig stock ? Dad and I had to trudge the mud last weekend while he sat and giggled at us in his rig. Have to hook up with Ron Hill for a prop too, I guess he is known as THE MAN for all mud motor props. Even the factories buy them from him.

Duck season is slow here right now, to warm. Still in the upper 50's. No cold weather to bring the push down from Canada. I have next week off work to go chase ducks all over around here. I might be able to find a few pockets.

Head'n to camp just to play cards today....First day rifle tomarrow in Pa.

I'll wait till next Saturday and spend day in shanty on powerline......wood stove and chillie fer sure!
