    Gosh, I remember one of those cars coming into the auto repair shop in the 80's. And more recently we have seen one on the road or in a parking lot. Bet they turned a lot of heads when they first came out!

        "Amphicar" ?

        When Bob Minton and I were running C & D Stock Hydro's, with Nick Marchetti, one of the "Amphicars" would regularly show up when we tested at the old Bristol, PA boat ramp. It belonged to the Delaware River Rivermaster. It was always neat to watch it go in and out of the water. Sam is right. They now go for a small fortune. Check out the history here;

        They are now going for about $12,000 for a junker to above $60,000 restored.

          PopPop I was going to say for a car that new was $2000 - $3500 a restored one brings about $60,000. That would of been a better investment than my 401k

            I believe water speed was 7mph land top speed on land was 70mph, hence the model 770

              I got the chance in the 80's to take the engine out when I was a auto Mechanic and rebuild it. Everything was rusted. After we got done they took it out and sunk it.

              I believe it had a Fiat motor?
