  • GPS Address for Sanctions

It would be nice if the sanctions contained a GPS address to each race. Wouldn't have to be exact (sometimes hard to get exact for a lake/river), but at least an actual address close enough to program into a GPS to get us there.
Maybe we could start this on Hydroracer and eventually carryover to the sanction notice.

I liked the old way better:

"Turn on the road by where Old Man Jones used to keep his horses, and then drive past where the house was that burned down and keep going until you get to the detour sign, ignore that, drive around it and go up to the lake and turn at the T, and keep going to the next lake. You can't miss it."

GPS directions / co-ordinates wouldn't do me any good anyway. All I have is one of those little cheap, yellow Garmins and I can just barely manage to find the max speed readout on it.
      ...

OMC FE/SE powerhead parts for sale. Kurcz ported block, Mod 50 pistons and cylinder head, exhaust, etc.

That's why you take kids along!!!
And Tim, I alway love it when they say "you can't miss it" cause I'm surely gonna miss it then.
        This is funny

Nothing stopping it now. Whomever submits the Sanction can enter the GPS Co-ordinates under directions. Does Google maps have GPS locations?

You forgot the turn where the Smiths donkey attacked the mailman and the big rock where Uncle Jed got struck by lightning.

Hey I live in a small town and having only been here for 5 years when the ambulance receives directions like that it is tough on us newbies, especially when we are trying to save your loved ones life!

Seriously guys, what do you think about starting a Section called Race Venues where this kind of stuff could be posted under the name of the site. There is a great video that Kev posted regarding OshKosh that would fit to such a section. We could post pictures of venues, etc. People would know more about a site before the got there. -- Teresa

Good idea. While we are waiting for this to become part of the sanction, you can go to google earth and put in the city, find the body of water and click on the location. The Lat ,and Long, will appear at the bottom of the satellite photo.
