People Speeding

Perhaps someone that races can shed some light on this subject for me!

Why are people in such a hurry when driving their autos?

I go fast when I am racing a boat, when I drive my car I drive the speed limits period. Why is everyone in a hurry to get somewhere?
1. I don't speed to get to work because I set proper time limits to get there.
2. I don't speed home because all I hear is the Toilet is Broke again.
3. I don't speed to lunch because I could miss a meal every now & then.
4. I didn't speed, even when my wife was yelling in my car, on the way to the hospital for our baby deliveries.
5. I can see how older people 85 plus should speed to get somewhere because they are getting older & may not have a lot of time left.
6. I can't see why young & middle aged people speed, it's not worth it!

My older sister always said, " Go like Hell & You will get There!"

Earl, I agree. On a race track or course the goal is to win. In a car on the open road the only goal is making it to a destination in one piece.

When driving I am rarely in a rush. That's why I have a motorcycle that is slower than my race boat.

If your boat is faster than the posted speed limit you are going to have to speed if you want to practice your runs at the clock.
