  • I Want Some of That Tape!

I want some of whatever tape I just saw Kyle Busch's pit crew putting on the front of his damaged car after the wreck on lap 124 of the Daytona 500. Imagine the possibilities -- you could probably use it to repair or even replace multiple damaged frames on the front of a race boat. It was very wide, very long, and very sticky...

        It Can't Be That Simple

It can't be that simple. I've got duct tape. In multiple colors. It's got to be something like a special plastic/metal hybrid tape that's been developed by NASA for trips to Mars.

So what happens when the car is going 190 MPH? Wait, I know! Car leaves a wrinkled sheet metal blizzard in its wake!

dunno what tape they used, but . . .

someone mentioned NASA and there are Shuttle access panels held on with Velcro(tm). Apparently Velcro is available in a variety of stickability from a few ounces to peel your fanny pack lid open to so many pounds per square inch you need a frigging pry bar to bust the grip.

Might check with 3M about the tape. 3M makes some kick booty tape. 3M tape holds your Ve-hi-cal (Southron for car/truck) emblems on.
