      Sorry................

How did the fire start?? Was it the wood stove?? I can still remember Justin at 4 years old in the shop sitting in the boats on the jig.

At least no one was hurt................

I sent George an e-mail earlier................

Wow, sorry to hear this. The fact that nobody was hurt is always a relief to hear. Gary told me that the CSH we brought up to you a few weeks ago was on the jig being repaired. I guess that went up in smoke. I assume George's Crosley hydros were in there, too. Just glad that everyone is in one piece. I'll give your Dad a call this week.

            boats bad firewood

We purchased allot of boats from George, all ran great, so I have been to his garage many times. In '82, we had a fire in our garage, it burn to the ground, four boats, six hot rods, to riding lawn mowers and a full restored 1928 two door ford. We called Carl Staron and ordered two boat, that was January. We had a race in June here in Grove, ok. Carl is slower than most, but after many phone calls he brought the boats in the back of his van, all the way form Fl. and he arrived one hr. before the race. We put a 15 hot rod on the back of the boat and took it for a test just thirty minutes before the race. We forgot to put oil in the lowerunit and burned it up in two laps. Slowly we added to our equipment and tools. It was a fifty thousand dollar loss at that time. Of course there is no insurance for the boats and motors and the car had only five thousand dollars of insurance. It cost ten K to replace. We currently race more classes in apba than any other driver, running both stock and mod. runabout and hydro. Oh, now we have a new driver on our trailer who will run four classes, Braxton Miller . We have recovered but it will take George some time to get all the stuff together that he lost in that fire. Doc Miller

You will be surpsised how quickly George will recover. When he puts his mind to racing it doesn't take him long to get to the front! Heck, he always complained how the garage was to small for the Inboards, now i imagine he will build something to rival Hendrick Motorsports.

George and Paul--- Sorry to hear about the fire. As my dad said earlier, we had a similar experience. I can still remember seeing the flames about 3 stories tall out of my bedroom. I ran to the garage and saw a boat trailer with no boats on it. My dad said to grab the garden hose. I thought to myself "Like I am going to put out a 3 story fire with a garden hose." I did it to prevent the fire from spreading and also knowing I should do what my dad says. We have had four boats built out of George's garage and appreciate everything you have done for us. As Matt said, might as well build one big enough for the inboards. Heck I am adding more garage to my house as we speak. Our prayers our with you in your loss of great memories and the rebuilding process. Hope to see you this next season.
