  • Vintage snowmobile racing is huge!

Over 520 entries for the World championships of vintage snowmobile racing today at Eagle river Wi.Wish i could have taken my sled but lack of funds kept me home. That many entries kinda reminds me of the good old days of Stock outboard racing.

We had 5 single cylinder vintage classes added to the Eastern Pro tour up here a few years ago. As of last year, there were about 70 entries at a single event!

      Small question.

How old does a snowmobile have to be to be considered "vintage"?

It was kind of expensive (ROFL) I have about 1 hr in it. that was the amount of time it took me to get it loose and loaded. It was frozen to the ground in an unused cattle barn. but the previous owner gave me new glides for the track and bogey wheels and bearings. the seat needs new foam but I have the seat cover too.

Nice EX440. Put some 34mm roundslides on it and some aftermarket reeds and she'll really hustle!

Hey! I think I have a couple of 34 or 38's from motorcycles laying around somewhere in the barn

Bob....I think you may have seen this old girl over at Rogers City last year?

These are pics from the Soo I 500 and the TC 250...I think between 79 and 82 roughly?

This is what I started with in April of 2008

This is what I ended up with in Late Jan of 2008

This sled is the last yamaha 2 stroke to sit on the pole at the I 500 race...that was 1978. Bill Crist from Cheboygan was the owner and driver and I bought the sled from him in parts.
