I'm pretty sure ridiculous salaries are pretty much paid by TV revenue. Seat prices don't seem to hurt the owners at all. Ever notice no matter how bad a team is and how few seats are filled the price doesn't go down?

I say enact the fairness doctrine...Since professional sports get all this air time, they need to give equal air time for hobby sports like boat racing! LOLOL

          Greed?

If I were the best of the best, I would go to work for the highest bidder also. What's wrong with that?

And I have no idea who this Sabathina person is anyway. Football? Basketball? Baseball? Soccer?

Bad team=dropped ticket prices in the Portland market while the Blazers were tanking, in some cases as much as 40%, lasted about 3-4 years. But Baseball and footbal are more popular on TV though, than basketball.

              Greed?

I guess when you look back, and here I go dating myself, there are very few people who play sports because they love the game anymore.

2 classic examples, and forgive me, I'm a long time Packer fan, but, Dick Butkiss, and Gale Sayers....Playing for Papa Bear, he always thought he was screwing them because they made $30,000 a years less a piece than other players for their positions at the time....

Both guys have said Halas had no clue that either of them would have played free if given the chance, so they felt they got the best of him.

Now a days, the vast majority of high very paid pro athletes squander and blow every dime they ever make..

SOUNDS like an urban myth. since from my experiance taping a broken finger to an ajoining finger works well. LOL
