Trailer Being Built
Steve,
Make sure they pack it real good so nothing gets broken or bent.
The California trip is now waiting for a new Double Stack trailer for my 45's.
Ask the guys shipping your motor to see if they can locate the Yamato box the motors are shipped in originally to Ric from the factory.
Ric has these boxes. Good Luck.sigpic

When I bought my Y102 it was from a man in florida (I live in maine) we asked for dimensions, and build the box with a few inches to spare all around, for the bottom we used 1/2-3/4 inch particle board base (the bottom were the y102 was to be strapped down) and 1.5 inch square stock to hold the sided together and 3/16 plywood the rest of the way around the box. we then screwed in pieces of metal (eye hoots to strap motor too) and sent a ratchet strap down with a few pieces of 2-3 inch hard foam insulation for under, on top lower unit, w/else for added protection, we also put a 2x6 that was the exact width of the box, so once the motor was strapped down he put the 2x6 in the transom clamps and screwed that in place from both sides. Box weighed about 40-45lbs and the yamato was about 95lbs so it worked perfect, I think it was $40 to ship the box to FL and under $110 to get it back full. As a matter of fact we just modified the box last month to ship to washington state (from maine) to have our 25xs shipped back, once again it worked great.

UPS, that does mean "United Package Smashers" right?? I (maybe just luck) received both my motors unharmed from UPS with the crate as I described. The first one did have a bump on top that broke the plywood but wasn't strong enough to touch the motor inside.
