carter N carbuerator

i have carter N s
want use them
for racing
are special models
or serial numbers
they are from a 40 hp outboard
other than model "N" thank you ralph

There should be a number after the N. There were many variations of the Carter N other than the ones used on the Mk20H and 55H, it is a common carb.

my carb: shows no numbers after the N
but numbers appear on mounting flange
i would suspect they are a common
carb. they were on a Scott /40 hp
going to use them on my mk 55h
and see what happens

Q. what avantage will one gain
using them.?
