  • Sad News From The Butterfield Camp

Just wanted to let all the Michigan folks and boat racers know that Andy Butterfields dad died yesterday. He was diagnosed with cancer back in August. He went through treatments but it spread fast. He is now resting in a better place. Andy Sr was a long time boat racer who ran many different classes over the years he raced. He was very fond of the marathons and his son Andy Jr followed in his path and is still one of the finest drivers of a 25 runabout today. Please say a prayer for Andy Jr and his sister Sue. I will post the funeral info as soon as it is firmed up. I don't know if I can take any more funerals this year. Anyway I spoke with Andy and he is in good spirits and is glad his dad isn't suffering anymore. Here is his cell # if you would like to call him. 1-810-335-6850 This is the time when our race boat family provides the support needed during hard times. Thanks everyone!!!!!! Mikey

Andy Sr. always said "THIS A'INT NO DRESS REHERSAL ". Live now because this is a "ONE TIME RODEO" . I will miss his humor and his insight .

Andy, Sorry to hear the sad news today. Your dad will be missed by many.
As a kid growing up in this sport Andy Sr. was one of the racers that I idolized and he always took the time to explain thing to me. I still can remember his runabout with the 20H on it like it was yesterday.
Our prayers go out to you and your family

Here is the funeral home info. Visitation is going to be Thursday from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and the funeral will be Friday. I will post the time of the funeral as soon as it is verified with me. I know the Eagles Club is were they will be at after the funeral. All this is in Algonac. I think you can go to the funeral homes website and print a mapquest if you want to attend. I talked with Andy and he wanted me to thank all that have replied with there support. See Ya Mikey
