    No trollin, its a play motor and will be goin thru some white bouy zones, Thats a good idea tho, Im just messin with what I have. Thanks.

      wow incredible...answerd by lots of welders...???
      mmm havent been on in awhile,,,but ask a tru...aluminium welder...did your...welder match the alloy's ..just like stainless welding have to match.... usually a 5051 alloy will do the trick... if get all grease out and pre heat
      done lots44 domes with it with lots succses,,,form-e one

        Not sure what he used but it seems to be good quality well penetrated bead. He told me Merc aluminum welded well. I got no absolute answer on alloy content . Since only the outside could be done I epoxied a stainless steel pipe in the driveshaft hole and epoxy & screwed a plate on the back across the weld area to be cautious on the side of possible error. The low tower mount is below the weld and I made a bracket to take the flex out of it so the odds of losing the foot are low even if it fails.
        The driveshaft is being done now and its got a powerhead on. I hope to test soon.

          Been awhile but I finished this project, its ready for a boat test. Heres a pic,, needs a little paint touch up but beauty aint the goal here. It runs & seems to be smooth.
