    I have read that there is a MAJOR fault line in the midwest.

          I woke up at 4:40am by the vibrations in the house. 5.4 earth quake in southern IL. Yes there is a major fault line, but its not nearly as active as the left coasts fault lines. The last quake was in 87, before that it was in 1968.
          Looks like we are on a twenty year cycle! LOL

            i believe the big one here is the san madrid vault line. the last BIG quake there was sometime in the 1800's. in some areas it is claimed that the tremors did not stop for months (history channel) the worst in the series was close to the magnitude of the great quake in frisco

              shaky!!!

              Mo. and sorounding states have quakes almost everyday from new madrid , most to small to feel.

                It was pretty strong in St Louis this early morning. The aftershock later in the morning was pretty strong too!!!

                  Believe it or not we actually felt one here in Florida about a year ago. I couldn't believe it. Wasn't that strong though.
