  • virus alert

You can check out what Snopes has to say at the bottom of this message.

Anyone-using Internet mail such as Yahoo, Hotmail, AOL and so on.

This information arrived this morning, Direct from both Microsoft and
Norton. Please send it to everybody you know who has access to the Internet.

You may receive an apparently harmless e-mail titled 'Mail Server Report' If you open either file, a message will appear on your screen saying: 'It is too late now, your life is no longer beautiful.'

Subsequently you will LOSE EVERYTHING IN YOUR PC, And the person who sent it to you will gain access to your name, e-mail and password.

This is a new virus which started to circulate on Saturday afternoon.
AOL has already confirmed the severity, and the anti virus software's
are not capable of destroying it.

The virus has been created by a hacker who calls himself 'life owner'.

PLEASE SEND A COPY OF THIS E-MAIL TO ALL YOUR FRIENDS, And ask them to PASS IT ON IMMEDIATELY!

THIS HAS BEEN CONFIRMED BY SNOPES

Do people actually still open emails if they don't know who they're from

After 3 years with Norton, and 3 years of calling tech support to help with problems Norton couldn't stop , I now use AVG

Not the same one. Snopes says the one Bill is talking about is real. Use his link in his original post.

            Avg

            And remember,.,.
Your Anti-virus program is only as good as your own stupidity allows it to be.

DON'T open files that are SENT TO YOU from UNKNOWN sources, no matter how trustworthy the sender claims to be.
            &
            Keep your anti-virus program updated
My AVG is set to check for updates & self update every day.
THATS NOT GOOD ENOUGH now a days.
A virus can be released at ANY time of the day or night.
AVG default will check for updates at 8:00 AM , but that will only take place IF YOUR COMPUTER IS ON, and the Internet is available to your PC.

So people, please, as soon as you log onto the Internet, right after you click on the Hydro Racer link, and before you click the Breast Cancer Site link http://www.thebreastcancersite.com/c...faces?siteId=2 , Right click on your Anti-virus Icon & click "Check for Updates" to allow your Anti-virus program a fighting chance.
