  • God Bless Bob Mallalieu

With a very heavy heart, I post this information that our very dear friend, Bob Mallalieu, has passed. Everyone that knew him knows that Bob will be dearly missed and I don't even know what more to say right now.

Cathy and Kevin, Bless you guys in this time of grief.

One of my favorite things about coming out east to race was to talk to Bob. He was always so full of life and quick with his laugh. He always left you in a better mood than when he found you. He will be greatly missed.
My deepest condolences to Cathy and Kevin during this terrible time.

Having known Bob for most of my adult life, I can only say that a kinder, caring and more generous man could not be found. He will be greatly missed. His absence will be felt throughout the pits and all other racing functions. We all loved Bob. Cathy, we share your grief, be strong, we're here for you. Rest in Peace friend.

                    Sadness...

This makes today as somber as the weather. Kevin and Cathy, I know everyone around you will work to give you strength. Bob, I miss you.

Boat racing has truly lost one of it's most beloved characters. Bob was always there to help you if you needed it. He was a great pit man, and was always volunteering in come capacity at the local races. Most of all though, Bob was just a nice, friendly, goof. I will always think of him as a big kid with a grey beard. He was always full of life, and alway made you laugh. There is no doubt that his presence will be greatly missed. Kathy and Kevin, although this time is difficult, take comfort in the fact that Bob was loved by so many people, and touched so many lives. Whenever you feel sad, just think about how many smiles Bob has put on all of our faces over the years. Whether he was telling a joke, or just saying hey, he was one of those guys you are always happy to see. That's what I'll always remember about Bob Mallalieu.

I am sure I speak for my entire family when I say Bob will be sorely missed by many many people who have loved he and his family. A 'character' is a very apt description of Bob. I don't think any of us ever left his presence without a smile on our face. And a smile just sitting with Cathy while Bob took 'just one more lap'. Cathy and Kevin, we are all thinking of you and are here if you need any one of us for anything.
