Any ideas on the best product for a black and white checkerboard flooring in a enclosed trailer?

    Thanks

You can get race car flooring from most tile/flooring suppliers. Thats the good stuff, using a diamond plate stamp. If you just want checker boards, keep it simple. Use a standard under layment, 1/4" is good, and get vinal 12" squares, black/white. Even simpler, tape and epoxy paint. My wife faux fiished our house floor, right over the slab 6 years ago. I helped her stripe the grout lines, and she got oooops paint at Home Depot, fauxed the travertine, then we coated with clear. Anyone who has ever been in here always comment on how nice the floor looks...We just chuckle when they leave. Been 6 years, we need to redo a few areas, cost was $400.00 and change. Travertine, my cost, me supply the labor, for same area, $6,700. It depends on how big your trailer is, but it is not hard to drop $5.00 a square foot in flooring, plus labor.

We are doing paint after Bakersfield, then going the clear route.

I've checked a couple of samples of the diamond plate type tile that snaps together ans was suprised has to how hard it is, almost felt like plastic. It would seem to me that it would be hard to cut and fit. If I was going to tile I would probably go with vinyl. I recently purchased a 20 footer with bare plywood decking, I'm leaning towards a good deck paint and sealer.

One option I would recomend is a product called race deck. It is like the product that Phil is refering to. I believe you can get them in 12x12 or 16x16 in multiple colors. It is a little pricey but is a quality floor. They snap together so install is easy, plus there is room for air movement underneath to help dry things out.

Just some food for thought there will be many times that you go in the trailer carring a boat or motor and have wet shoes and anything slick you will sooner or later end up slipping especially if you cover the rear door if its a drop ramp door.
