  • Emmett Homfeld

Long time boat racer, and crew chief for his son Jim Homfeld passed away this morning. Many time champion in AOF & NOA racing. Overall high point champion in AOF. Served as a officer in the AOF and as inspector at several Nats. He was active in boat racing for over 50 years. Built the engines that Jimmy used too win numerous championships. Truly one of the legends of the sport here in the midwest and south. Will post funeral arrangements when available.

        A Great Loss

My thoughts and prayers go out to Jim and his family.

I didn't know Emmett, but I'm sure my dad raced against him back in the NOA days around the midwest. If his son Jim is anywhere close to his legacy as I suspect he most surely is, then he was a great man and a great ambassador for boat racing. I know Jim's the best!

        God speed,

Jimmy- Our thoughts and prayers go out to your family. I was fortunate enough to know Emmett and he was a great man. When I first started going to races in the early 70's he was the man to beat. I saw him win many races and more importantly I saw him support you in your racing.
