    hello
    want to test Yamato 80
on the side of motor there is a brass bolt that
    goes in exhaust housing,
    blowing air into it
i hear and feel air coming out rubber hose(exit) from head
is this used for hooking up a water hose to running water source
to run motr while not on boat?
    thank you

Yes the bass bolt on the side of the drive shaft down housing
is for water in let. This is good for breaking in motors at 1/4 to
1/2 throttle.Does not work good for setting jetting.
If I can help email me at tcronk@tampabay.rr.com.

I note that his Y80 has 2 hoses for water release at the exhaust side. Is this preferred over the single hose that you set up for me? Seems to me that a single hose with the outlet set high would be adaquate to provide a tel tail to see the water and keep the water level high enough to cool the top cylinder?

        Thanks

        Pete

I just run a single hose on my setup. I was unaware the exh manifold had two outlets.

the early 80's had the single water outlet, then switched over to the 2 hose setup..............."supposedly" the single hose setup is faster??????

            PS: nice 80 Sean!!

PSS: funny........both the 80's on this thread "used" to be mine..........

I am sure he is refering to the brass plug on the backside of the tower, under the sterring bar mount..............yes, you can remove it and install a flush fitting for running the motor on the garden hose at low speeds. I also plug up the intake holes on the exhaust outlet where water "normally" enters during race conditions, so the motor retains more water........

I kind of thought the one with the stripes was your old one. I think that is the one you let me run at Lawrence when you drove Dave's Arltralite
