  • Shanon's Flip at Loch Haven

There's a scene in the James Bond movie "Diamonds Are Forever" where James Bond rolls up a Mustang Mach 1 on two wheels in order to pass through a tight spot. It looks like Shanon Bowman tried something similar last weekend at Lock Haven.

In the movie, James Bond made it. During Sunday's race, Shanon did not.

Lap 1, Turn 1, Lock Haven's Sunday CSH "Dash for Cash". Sorry, the first photo is blurry. I decided to include it because it's part of the sequence of shots. Although I didn't capture the exact instant, the bottom photo is Shanon signaling he's okay.

And if you're wondering how I can race CSH and shoot pictures of Lock Haven's Sunday CSH "Dash for Cash", let's just say there were "eliminations"...

    ********
Just for movie trivia buffs: Why is the James Bond "Diamonds Are Forever" Mustang Mach 1 scene a trivia question?

I'll remain silent for 24 hours to give all time zones a chance to ponder the question.

Shannon got pinched big time. Who is that on the inside and outside? They sure did not give Shannon any racing room Took his lane away.

What happened to the guy in lane #2 of the first picture? They look ready to bite the dust too.

Either Shannon had some large cahonies or he got chopped big time. Did anyone get tossed? His adrenilin bag was injecting to much juice. Looks like we won't see him at grass lake like last year. Hope your ok my friend. Mikey

                    Details

I don't have a photo in this sequence before the one I included above so there's no way to study whether or not Shanon's lane was taken away.

No, I don't think anyone was tossed.

Coming into the turn I think it's Jeff Thompson (11) on the right (cropped out in the second photo), Ian Augustine (31-E), Shanon, then Ryan Runne (4-Z).

To hear Ryan explain it back on shore, Shanon rode up on Ryan's fin spray.

I'm not sure who that is yet, but no other boats were involved. (CORRECTION: See posts by Joe Silvestri and Matt Gallagher below)

We don't have turn judges at Lock Haven, it slows down the program!! Lol.

You should have seen the way Gonyea got violated in CSH on Monday and there was no call in the first turn! See you friday my friend....

As for Chalies VIOLATION on Monday. There was none. I have made mistakes on the racecourse, and have immediately come clean. Mondays was a fair corner. Anyone who wants to dispute this, I live in Gaithersburg, MD. Come on bye. I talked to Charlie, and the turn judge in turn two, and everything is OK.
