  • Blue Ribbon Braggin’

I don’t have much to brag about when it comes to what Austin and I did on the race course this year, the few times that we raced.

But I can brag about our photos. For the second year in a row we submitted our best photos of the year to our county fair and we both came away with blue ribbons. It’s one thing for boat racers to say they like our photos – it’s another thing for an impartial panel of judges to award ribbons because they think our photos are good. You’ll recognize the photos below – they have all appeared on hydroracer.net.

In the 4-H youth category Austin had six First Premium Blue Ribbons, one Second Premium Red Ribbon, and one Third Premium White Ribbon. One of his Blue Ribbon winners was also a Champion - Best of Show.

In the Adult Division Austin won two First Premium Blue Ribbons, one Second Premium Red Ribbon, and one Third Premium White Ribbon. And one of his Blue Ribbon winners was also the Champion - Best of Show. Meaning he beat out me, my wife, and every other adult photographer in our county. He’ll never let me live it down.

So where are all the other photos? They’re not boat racing photos so they won’t appear here, per the webmaster’s request for this forum. But if you’re really curious, you can see them at www.highpoint.photoreflect.com.

Note: These photos will eventually be removed to save server space.

    Congradulations

Congradulations Mark and Austin, However this is more likely to go to Matt's head, since he was the subject of one of your prize winner. Oh God !!!

        Greats shots!

Congradulations Mark and Austin! As much as all of us here at hydroracer enjoy your racing pictures throughout the year, it is pleasing, I'm sure, that others outside of boat racing recognize your talents with the camera and enjoy the subject matter as we do.

Captain America is showing great form in the picture.......... could use a different turn fin, though.

          Not surprised!

The rest of the world is just learning about the Ritchie family. We, in boat racing, have known for a long time that you're blue ribbon material! Keep up the great work - it's appreciated!
