• Jesus Take the Wheel

Dave Augustine, Sr, out for a Sunday drive in 20SSH, at Millville, NJ.

Is it just me, or is he >>smiling<< for the camera behind his full face helmet?

Note: Click the image below to see a better resolution. This photo will eventually be removed to conserve server space. Download it sooner rather than later if you like it.

P.S. Just so there’s no confusion about whether or not I’m using the Lord’s name in vain, “Jesus Take the Wheel” is the title of Carrie Underwood’s hit song. It’s worth a listen.

no confusion here

Great picture, and a great song!
It is nice to see pictures of our racers having fun.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with the caption. It is great advice and should be the cry of our hearts.

Great Picture!

That proves it! I don't think anyone loves racing more than Dave-E51, be it out front, in the pack, or checking out the roostertails of the other drivers. 'Course, ol' smiley-face does enjoy the spotlight. Gotta love those Geezers!!

I'd like to get a copy of the picture. Will talk to you at Franklin or Sharptown, whichever you're at.

"He waved at me!"

The photo was shot during milling and Dave Sr. was circling the patrol boat. My back was to him so when Austin shouted, "He waved at me!" -- surprised because he wasn't expecting it -- I didn't know who it was.

Although we have a few shots of drivers looking straight at the camera in this series, including the one of George posted previously, Dave Sr. was the only driver to wave at the camera. Fun stuff.

Austin and I are planning on Sharptown, MD still debating about Franklin, PA.

Going, Going...

Going, Going...

I've let the photo above of Dave Sr. linger but it's time to remove it to make way for other photos.

Too bad because it's only 7 downloads short of being our most downloaded photo EVER.

I wouldn't want you to download it again if you already have it, but I'm giving everyone one last chance to wave goodbye...

Nikon D70

Austin and I use a Nikon D70 digital camera. For action shots we're getting the best results with a Nikkor (Nikon) 70mm-300mm lens. It's small and lightweight.
