I`ve known the Daily family since the mid 1960`s and have watched Duff come out of a boat a few times. About 7~8 years ago he crashed in another capsuled K-boat when the prop broke. I later asked him what is was like to crash in a capsuled boat compared to an open cockpit boat. He paused for a moment and said, "Uhhh...kind of boring, really."

        Boring is good!

By the way, Duff was trying to up his 147 mph kilo record yesterday.

Walking away is really, really, good too!!

          Wow, that was ugly

Great job again Denise. Where was he on the course and how fast was he going? Notice Oregon Race Rescue on the spot as usual, great job guys.

He was making a pass from 2 to 1 - he was rolling. Never made it into the trap. He had made a pass earlier at 142, and he was easily going that fast. Heard from a guy on Rankin's crew that Duff thought that was the fastest he had been in that boat. He has a long drive back to Florida.

Never seen K boats run kilos before. Really impressive. I tracked Hopp on his 163 pass in UL a couple of years ago, and these guys looked and sounded faster at 20 mph slower. Tony Scarlotti drove Rankin's rig, and had one pass (had to lift at half trap) that was breathtaking as he blew by us. Villwock's 131 pass in Super Stock was like that, too.

Sean McKean was the rock star, but the inboard guys put on a great show.

Yes that was great shooting Denise. The good news is that the driver is ok. The bad news is that in picture 4 #0468 that is me in the gray shirt holding my camera lens cap still in place because I didn't want to shoot into the glare on the water.
