  • Dayton Record Run to Host Mod Divisionals

    For Immediate Release

    June 11, 2007; Dayton, Ohio

Mod Central Divisionals, Aug 25-26, at the Hydrobowl

The Dayton Record Runs Association is pleased to announce that the Modified Outboard Central Divisionals will be held at the Dayton Hydrobowl along with the 2007 Dayton Record Runs Event on August 25 and 26, the weekend BEFORE Labor Day. Recently, the Modified Outboard Commissioners from the Central Division of the American Power Boat Association voted to hold the Central Divisional Championship in conjunction with the 2007 Great American Outboard Race-Dayton Record Runs Regatta in Dayton, Ohio. The event will include the Central Divisionals for the Modified Category of the APBA along with record runs for both days of racing for the Modified, Stock and J Categories of Racing within the APBA.

The DRRA will continue its tradition of awarding tropies for Saturday's racing along with the Harry O'Brien High Point Award and the Joann Ellis Memorial Fast Lap Award. A Driver's Party and Awards Ceremony will be held Saturday evening following the completion of racing events with viewing of NASCAR's Bristol night race. Records will be at stake for this event.

The Sanction for this event will be available in early August.

Mod Central Divisionals. Many of us are disappointed that TRORA will not be able to host at Franklin this year because of park management and local politics at Justus Lake. BUT, we are all looking forward to another great race at the Dayton Hydrobowl. What a great racing venue. Let's keep the great Dayton Record Runs tradition going. We'll be there ! Camping at Grass Lake is not allowed in the pits. But there is lots of room to camp at Vic's just a short walk from the pits.

                              Dayton Record Runs This Weekend

In from all the DRRA scouts: this weekend should be a big turnout especially for the Mod Divisionals. I'll have the schedule out hopefully by tomorrow.

The party Saturday night is shaping up to be a good one. Bobby promises "special" entertainment. As usual, all SO & Mod classes will race.

                              See you there.
