News release: April 23, 2018
Last evening, the Stock Outboard Racing Commission approved the following addition to our class structure. This change will be effective in 30 days.
Proposal:
Add the Mercury / Mariner 25xs engine with the same boat measurements used in 25SSR (9'5" long & 44" wide) to the new BSR class.
Engine height will remain at 1-3/8" which is 3/8" lower than the Sidewinder 20S.
Raise the weight to 420 lbs.
The restrictor plate must be used.
The addition of this motor will follow the same rules as the B hydro class for longevity: The Mercury / Mariner 25XS is permitted in runabout for three years until November 1, 2020.
This removal will only occur if there are at least 30 drivers that have raced the class a minimum of four races during the third season while using the Sidewinder 20S engine.
Respectfully submitted,
Jeff Brewster
Stock Outboard Chairman
