APBA Online Member Renewals: WTF???

I went online to the APBA Web Site today to renew memberships, and got the following message:

Year end reports are being finalized. During this time we are unable to accept memberships on line. We are now testing a new and improved on-line memberhship program. Thank you for your patience during these changes.

Ok--I have no idea how long this message has been up, (did this just happen?) I'm sure that the National Meeting was probably taking up a lot of people's time, and the weather is bad, and the Tsunami hit, and bla bla bla....

But for Crikey's sakes, folks---with rejoining memberships due at Month's End, and wanting to get Cards before Bakersfield, I THOUGHT I was doing the right thing by trying to take care of this now....but NOOOOOO................!

This is like a Store Closing For Inventory during the Christmas Season.

So, Valerie....Tana....Gloria.....Hearns.....Allens... ...Somebody out there with a Baseball bat-----can we please get this fixed? Sometime in the near future?

APBA web site

The new APBA online member renewal program is almost done , it should be up no longer than 2 weeks from now well before the deadline. You will be able to do much more than in the past it will be worth the wait. Dan talked to Gloria also so if you need any tech info ,he can give it to you I am to old to understand how this stuff works. Don Allen Sr.

Anybody out there thinking about updating the old worn out Kevlars now's the time. Prices are super low through Pat. I got Val "her" first set of Kevlars this past x-mas and they were all custom trimmed out(blue top with black stitching and matching z-cut pants) and cheaper than a new propeller!!!! Imagine that..............

As of this morning the APBA e-mail system is running on a new server. I was told by HQ that this switch was necessary to get the membership registration back online. So don't worry, be happy! Things are progressing. I'll come back here when I hear more news~

The Southern California Speedboat Club obtained the 2005 Membership Application from APBA and even better it has been translated to a writable format pdf file for the racers convenience.

Online Memberships

Does anyone know if the online Membership stuff will be available this week? It is almost D day and if it won't be done I'll use the pony express!

On line memberships

I talked to Cindy at APBA Headquarters today the on line membership renewals are still not working. We have our IT experts working on the problem . The problem is with the link to the credit card processing center. The day I was at headquarters Cindy and I played with it , we processed a renewal ( 61W) , a brand new Stock Outboard driver from Region 10, an inboard driver changing classes and they all worked great , you can even check to see if the boat number you want in available. For some reason when you try to pay with your credit card the system goes haywire. APBA is not going to go live with it till everything is working 100%. we dont want memberships lost in cyber space. You might consider the US Postal service or by Fax but remember to fax both pages. See you at the Winter Nationals. Don Allen Sr.

On Thursday Feb. 24, APBAs online memberships will go live, the programers think they have all the bugs worked out but if you find any problems call Cindy at HQ. to let her know. It has been a long process but the new system is much better. Don Allen Sr.
