I have been a member of APBA for the most of the last 43 years. All that time in the PRO division. I have liked PRO because it was a difficult challenge and for me hard to compete. I have built many of my own Hydros and have used Konig engines for most of my racing career. I have gotten much satisfaction in the knowledge that I have started and finished most races that I have entered. I didn’t come from a racing family and for that matter not even a boating family. I knew nothing of boats or engines before I started, and some will say I still don’t, but I have had much fun in the learning process. Over the years I have known and became friends to many people across the USA. Traveling to the race sites has given me the opportunity to see much of this great country.
I hoped to contend my capsule boat again but the challenge seems overwhelming, economic uncertainties, limited pit help, and few race venues in a reasonable proximity.
I will not renew my membership in APBA. In April it will be 20 years since my life altering crash in Lakeland, it is time to move on.
All my remaining racing equipment is for sale. Can be had as is or rebuilt.
