So now Mike, Step up one of the SE's and you have a class. Someone will certainly want to do that, and if not, take up a collection to pay the entry fee for someone who will do it. It is fun to watch a good SE/FE run with the 250's. Pretty matched to the surprise of many.

Also, the 250's, even if run separate, can still race with the 350's. Heck, collect those $250 drivers' money for entry fees and make them run twice.

The AOF restricted Y80 is run in the Novice class, which is for anyone who wants to go slow, from 9-99 years of age. It is a non competitive class and is used for kids, old guys who want to race again, or letting spectators, etc have a chance.
The APBA A stock class is basically our "O" class. At the time that Phillip DiFebo introduced the A class into AOF, APBA said we couldn't use the letter "A". We were all kind of dumb and crazy back then. We called it "O" for outboard or something. Rules are pretty much the same as APBA's.

Did you get your rulebook yet? I can email you one. Takes a few minutes. I only have dial up here on the farm but it does the job, just slow like me.
      Email me at
      AOFOffice@aol.com if you want one.

          Pretty much standard Merc rules....

C hydro minimum weight is 440 lbs.
No port measurements - 3 intake and 3 exhaust ports per cylinder.
4 reeds per cylinder - Mercury or Quincy reed cages.
16 CC minimum for combustion chamber.
7/8" carbs (such as AJ47's, KB2A's, KC6's.....). AJ49's and AJ51's are still legal. 1:1, 16:21, 14:19, and that other Hot Rod ratio - I forget what it is.
I believe that all the minimum weights (rods, pistons, flywheel) still apply but I don't remember what they are.

Unless you've done a lot of hacking you'll have nothing to worry about. In my experience with the C's you'll have nothing to worry about even if you have done a lot of hacking because you won't be fast enough to get inspected.
          ...

OMC FE/SE powerhead parts for sale. Kurcz ported block, Mod 50 pistons and cylinder head, exhaust, etc.

that is the plan! I just got the powerhead reassembled after Steve Benson fixed the plug hole I blew out at Capital Lake. I just need to get a foot underneath it now, as I also blew the Inson lower unit I had underneath it.........(gettin' REAL TIRED of replacing lower units under this C Merc!).

This could be the largest field of Vintage Inboard hydroplanes to only rival attendance at Tastin Racin at lake Sammamish last June, I count 7 to 9 planning on going. In the flat bottoms I estimate 10 to 14 with the possibility of our first injected HEMI powered flat coming out of Idaho and an old friend of SLORA. Hope he gets a big welcome from NWC and SLORA even if he is an inboard veteran with 49 years of racing experience. I also hope every one helps NWC set up and keep the program moving without huge delays. With so many boats, it could be a 6-7 hour program. The jerk family is ready to help, are you?

Well just think the entrys will be more than we show now because we have not heard from J Michael Kelly yet! He always brings about 10 entrys.

if I can keep a lower unit underneath it, it runs pretty darn good...............
