      AOF Membership Question

Hey, Connie or Mike or anyone:

I have a question regarding your J membership....basically, what constitues it as far as the joint races go. Say, a new member who is 14 and a rookie wants to just join AOF at Bridgeport and run all year under the AOF membership....they are going to run J and ASXH, but have never been in a boat...do they pay the full membership for AOF or the J/Novice Membership price? Also, I am sure you are going to have plenty of Membership forms handy right? I have a feeling you will be needing lots!
      Thanks,
      Sheryl Rucker

        Nevermind

Oh, I see you have to be an APBA member, but still a question about the membership anyway....what does constitute it....Novice or J?

You sound kind of nervous Mom?

It is going to be fun this year, sitting back in a lounge chair watching Ashley & Colin run J. I wonder who will be more nervous, Ashley, Colin, Mom, Aunt Susan, Dick papa, or Ma Pen?

Been there, done that with two J racers at one time. Never a dull moment. We wish you well.

              Sheryl,
Have some nerve pills handy! In one race I had 3 kids. Several times Dad and kids, and worse yet, my daughter and her son! Those grandkids worry me more than anything.

Prices for J, Novice (which is a Y80 w/restrictor), and AXS

$35 yearly membership. (You can make 3 payments each).
The payments come in handy with several kids to pay for.

Ages are the same as APBA ages.

              Isn't this gonna be fun?
              Connie

                I was doin' fine

I was totally doing fine, but you all are making me more nervous and it is only March! Connie, thanks for the info, and yeah, I need to invest in a pharmecutical company that sells muscle relaxers! Ashley, I think I am okay with her so far, Colin....................................YIKES. Jim, you are funny, sitting in your lounge chair watching! It has to make you a little nervous when Jamie runs at DePue right???? Does it ever end? I have told Dick Papa he better bring some extra wood to the races! I am not sure who will be most nervous, I think Susan might beat us all at that one! Lawrence was tough, but watching Ash in the runabout at Moses was worse (and guess which one she likes the most??) fun times.

Thanks for the info and thoughts!

                  Most amusing

With all the museum project rookies joining the fray, I think the most often heard PA anouncment will be "will the parent of driver XXXR please report to the judges stand". I will be enjoying that part as much as Jim, lord knows I made my share of trips to the judges stand to find what the kid goofed up on this time. I think I enjoy watching new J parents go through what I went through as much as I enjoy watching the kids. Take it easy Sheryl, it's all good.

                    My Poor Kids

Yes, several trips to the judge's stand are in store. But, just think, Jonathan....Jamie....Mike...Aaron, all these kids had to go to the judges stand to report to Susan, my poor kids have to go report to someone on the Judge's stand and then come back to the trailer and report to Aunt Susan!!! They get a double whammy (I am not complaining though, I am sure they will think twice before making the same mistakes over and over!!).

It has only just begun!!! Looking forward to an interesting season.

                      Your Poor Kids

Trips to the Judges stand? Let's see, the first race is at Bridgeport. Dick Papa is race director, and myself and Pat are referee and assistant referee. That should make you feel confident??? It should also be fun with all the new J drivers??? Heck, Ashley is a veteran with a couple races under her belt. All kidding aside, I'm optimistic that the kids will do great.

                      Jim

PS - tell your Dad to bring some white tape, as we are going to have to tape a lot of X's on the helmets of all these new racers.
