First race Elk River Idaho AOF

Here are some pictures from the first race of the season. We got off to a shakey start with our New/Used truck breaking down and having to spend test day at a Ford dealer. It was nice that we were allowed some test time on Saturday before the racing began.

The wife is having a great time with her new camera and monster lens. She say a mono pod is needed to help her arms.

We had two Novice drivers and both went swimming. One learned you do not make a hard right into the pits.

We also had a lot of new winners so they got to go swimming to.

More pictures. We had a great turn out of spectators and the weather was great. The water was even 44 degrees this year!

Last set of pictures. Would like to thank some of the SOA members for giving us some set up ideas on the new boat. We are getting close. It was a rocket ship by the end of the weekend winning by half a lap in each heat. Now we will try it unrestricted at the next race. I may not get to drive it ever again. I had Kevin drive it so I could see what it was doing. BIG MISTAKE. He still had a couple issues after testing was over but after the first heat he said don't touch it. Final point total for the weekend was 2400 and his first win. Can you say swimming

Dave, we also have a Go-Pro camera on order and it should be here in time for Banks. Like the wife said, Banks is a real hard place to view and take pictures of the race. See ya in two weeks.

We plan to bring all three boats but just run two. Bring your suit and race with us if your knees are up to it

Maybe you can get your wife out on the pick-up boat or a turn boat. She'll get some great shots from the middle, guaranteed!

I would be game for a stint on the pickup boat, that is probably the only way to get pictures at banks, too much lake side foliage otherwise. Someone just has to offer a ride!
