It was just announced at the BSOA monthly meeting that there was going to be cash prises in CSH and CSR classes. John Puestow and Sam Hemp are heading the #6 Challenge. Their boat numbers are 6 and 51 (5+1=6, hence the #6 Challenge) so they are awarding $600 for each class, to be presented in cash at the finals banquet. They are looking to make these classes more exciting and talked about and the center of activity. No special entry fee is required, no stickers on your boat, no one asking you to buy T-shirts- just fun and racing. There will be no special trophies but we are hoping to find a cute trophy girl to hand out the cash- PM to audition. So good luck to everyone and see you at Wakefield!
One final detail- the winners of the #6 Challenge with be the 6th place finisher in the class final events. 6th place ordinarily doesn't get anything but here he may be the big winner! Remember 6th is a no hassle position; they probably won't even weigh you after the final heat. Have at it.
