    Joey and Russ, the pits at Pineville are in a city park and allow camping. There are some hook ups for sewer and water but I usually just pitch my tent and press on. The restroom is open around the clock but there is no shower. I usually run to the local National Guard base just down the road for a morning shower. Would be glad to escort you on the base for a hot shower. At the camp site I string an extension cord so I have lights and an electric heater if needed. It works and I have a great time but then I'm not too bright! Stayed in the pits two years ago and it was cold but survived.

        2nd attempt:

        Hotel Info?

        If arrive early, where can I test?

        Who is handling local promotion?

        Thanks,

        Paul

          Paul, I can't help with hotel info but have seen people test at the race site a few days before the sanction went into effect.The park is almost always open and not used too much by boaters . Hopefully, someone has more info. I've been wondering who the host club is going to be and who to contact concerning the race. The closest motel is the Days Inn in Pineville and is about 1 1/2 miles North of the race site. It's phone is (318)640-5818. Othe motels in Alexandria are just about 3 mile South of the race site.Yahoo Yellow Pages has a pretty good listing. If you stick with the ones on Macarthur Drive you'll be in the ball park. I'm sure that the race Hq hotel will show up as things get organized and arrangements are finalized, perhaps after the National Meeting. Jack

              1) I can't find a gearbox;

              2) It will be too cold; and

              3) If it is not too cold, the gators might bite me."

              Dave: Take your skirt off and show up! You are always talking about the associations working together and this event is it! Ed.
              You crack me up.

              Will the event be co-sanctioned so that all membership cards will be accepted as full participating members of both orgs ? Until that happens you only get the same mess as last time, a lot of mad other organization folks. The key is to meet in the middle........ Just like when you had your first kiss with a girl when you were getting out of law school.... meet halfway, don't make her come to you.......

              And if I EVER wear a skirt.......... someone is going to pay dearly for taking advantage of my sobriety.

              And the availablity of gearboxes for my class in particular is alarming. It is not a joking matter right now. So back off that issue, it is a valid excuse. If one does not have a gearbox under the tower, it makes one rig rather useless wouldn't you say ? I order two new ones well over a year ago.......

              So if I don't make it, it is for that reason, not because I am skerred. Besides, when was the last time you climbed in any with more than two cylinders ? It takes two balls to run more than two clys.......
