Well, my NW tour is at an end and I'm off to see the Blue Angels tommorow.
CSH & 20ss were pretty murky. Lots of jumpers, lane violations, etc.... Two of the faster guys did end up winning, so nice work on their part. (allthough I think John got a speeding ticket in 20- oh well, that's boatracing).
Organizers did a great job from start to finish, and the coolest part was the winners got to do a victory tour down the beach.
Big congrats to John. 1st in DSH. 4th in CSH & 20ss!!!!!! (now on their way to Pro Nats).
Hi Dean, I think Bud won the Nationals in 1955. Bill Holloway won them in 1956 in Cambridge, Maryland. How do I know? I have heard the story for most of my life. Holloway had a 7th and a 1st for a first overall. My dad, Bob Wagner, had a 4th and a 2nd for a second overall. Do the math and you'll see my dad missed a title by two points. For some racers, there always seems to be one small mishap or detail that cost them the title. I had my hopes on seeing Miskerik take the CSH crown this year. Congratulations to John Peeters from Wagner Racing.
What a thrill it was standing right there when John won the second heat and with it the national championship.... I think the yelling from the mass of region 10 folks when john landed at inspection could be heard back home....
