  • Fall Jesup Canceled, Tabor City is on!!

    As mentioned in another thread, we will NOT have a fall Jesup for 2011. CVRA has decided to put a race on in Tabor City, NC to replace the Jesup event. Thank you CVRA for helping us get yet another event in 2011 you guys have really stepped up and we appreciate it!!

    Tabor City will have SO, MOD, and J classes as normal and will also include 125CCR, 125CCH, 175CCH, 250CCH from the PRO category.

    We will be working towards the Spring event in Jesup which is also host to the 2012 MOD winternationals.

    Peace River Outboard and CVRA are working together to produce more events for the 2012 race season.

    Tentative locations being worked on and contacted for events;

    Region 5;

    Lake Wales, FL
    Lake Alfred, FL
    Inverness, FL
    Crescent City, FL
    Lake Placid, FL
    Jesup, GA

    Region 4;

    Tabor City, NC
    Wilson, NC
    Sharptown, MD
    Denton, MD
    Clarksville, VA

    Region 14;

    Northeast GA - new site near Augusta

    Any help or city contacts you have could help in securing these sites for next year and take the pressure off the select few who have been trying to get these venues to happen.

    Howie,

    Before the towel is thrown in, we need to wait and see if this Hurricane
    slated for the weekend fills the lake.

    CVRA wait a few days before you send in the sanction.

      Is the Tabor race going to be the same dates as the Jesup race was?

        I Agree with Tim if we throw the towel in all ready are we going to be able to run Jesup in the spring? We have really started to pick-up on community involvment ther I hate to see us go backwards with that now

          The decision is already final on Jesup. The community and park is still 100% behind us and the races, they want us there! They agree with the decision made knowing the park isn't quite ready for us yet but have full confidence that we will be back bigger, better, and stronger next spring.

          With that said please plan on supporting Tabor City. Steve Dunn puts in a ton of work for this event and says the city plans on beginning promotions now for the race.

          Dates are the last weekend of October, the 29th and 30th.

              I love the tentative Florida Schedule;

              May even look at picking up a CSR and a JSR (me and the kids),....

              And, may bring the GT-Pro up and let people give it a spin(?)

              Really looking forward to next year!

                Another Possible Site in Region Four Next Year

                Howie,
                I'm working with the Hinton, W.V. Chamber of Commerce regarding a race next year over the Fourth of July weekend. The Chamber is very interested in supporting this. I'll keep you posted.

                Cheers,
                Fred

                      Good point Tom, organization and effort off the course is needed to make these races a reality. Very much appreciate your hard work Howie. Hope to be racing again soon.
