First off, THANK YOU to all Drivers, Crew, and Spectators that came to the "Annual High Point Chase Showdown" in Jesup, GA. Great days of 75-80 degree weather, good water conditions, and a light breeze.

Thanks to all the helpers as well: Bob Dunlap, Steve Sawyer (and crew), Tom Cronk, Bob Mackrell, The Oberlin Crew, Nic Thompson, Steve Dunn, and numerous others that I know I would miss if I tried to mention them all for getting the pre race and race day chores done. Bill Hoctor for spending the entire weekend in his boat manning turn 3 & 4, Tom Nuccio who seemed to spend a majority of his time in the turn boat as well, when not racing.

32 heats with a couple more restarts on Sat were run starting at 1135 and ending at 435. 4 flips with no injuries! Sunday had 34 heats starting at 1030 and finishing at 220 with no incidents!

Several High Ponit races were decided that I know of, 175CCH had Diane Murray some 236 point behind Ralph Donald before the weekend began. Diane won overall both days securing the US-2. Congrats Diane (I hear the entire rig is for sale and she is retiring while on top!)

AXR was also decided. Aaron Salmon from Washington was leading the points prior to the weekend, Becky Nichols needed 400 points to take the lead and Max Acierno (2010 National Champion) needed 464 to beat out Becky for the 2-US title. Becky did what she needed to winning both heats on Sat with Max taking second. It was Max's to give away needing a 4th place or better to win it all. (Max ran ASR as well and got most of the gremlins out of the way with a broken throttle spring, loosing the engine cowling, and I believe I heard having the motor loose on the transom (not sure about that.)) Max won the first heat (AXR) and tried to blow over twice in the second heat of Sunday causing the thrust bracket to break and dropped him back to a 4th in heat 2 giving Becky the overall win again but it was her 16th race and Max got the overall 2nd taking the 2-US title back to Long Island. (Thanks Max & Dan for making the trip (I'm saying with some Sarcasm...) Just kidding buddy, Congrats MAX!!

Congrats to everyone else as well, great racing, great friends. See you all back in the spriing!

Many more great racing battles as well between Amy Waterson and Emily Hutchinson in JR and then Joe Waterson, Jack Cavanuagh, Noah Romberg, and Emily Hutchinson in JH to name a few!

    Great Job - Howie!

Thanks for your efforts at what looked like a nearly single-handed registration and scoring operation. Maybe you should be less mobile more often!

Just kidding - take care of that busted ankle!! You need to be back out there mixing it up with the C's again soon!

    Thanks again,
    Tom Burwinkle

        Thanks

Wanted to thank everyone involved with the jesup race. It took 18 hours to get there thursday. What a great racesite, could easily put on a nationals or winter nationals. What great weather down there. When we left sunday it was in the high 80's and as we got north we kept adding layers. Nj was in the low 30's when we arrived. Great racing all weekend to everyone. It was good to see our southern friends before the winter. Took us about 17 hours to get back,Thanks again to bob dunlap, steve sawyer, and howie nichols an everyone else involved for making the race possibly.
        -Johnny
Congrats to Max Aceirno for locking up the title this weekend. We both had a great season, you deserved it man.

          a big thanks to all

Like Howie said, thanks to everyone who helped make the race go so well. We couldn't have done it in the pits without Tom Brockmeyer, his announcing and pit bossing made everything go smoothly and fast and also a big thanks to Mike Parker for his help.
We all had a great time, perfect weather and good racing. A great way to end the season and help get thru the winter with lots of good memories. The local county recreation dept exceptional sports program for special needs children did a great job helping us promote the race and we had the most spectators I have seen in a long time. They had the trick or treating for kids all day Sat and a large blowup slide for kids to play on.

What a great race!. This was the most efficiently run “race day program” I have seen in a long time. The program was complete by 3:00 on Sunday and we were able to casually clean things up and get loaded to go home. It was great! Good job guys!
