For those that may be confused on when their capsule training expires below is a guide line that the scorers use.
      Thanks
      Bruce

      Capsule training Approval

In Categories which require Reinforced Cockpits in any of their classes, those drivers (the drivers running reinforced capsules) are required to show written documentation of approved Safety Cockpit Training. While each category may have their own verification system, we at registration frequently are asked to check each driver’s documentation be sure this training is current.
Last year any driver whose “approval date” included any time in 2009 was considered approved for all of 2009. However, for 2010 and beyond each Category’s rule book states the following:

      • Drivers are required to show written documentation of having completed the training per the current criteria.
      • A current APBA racing membership card showing the training to be current shall be considered documentation.
      • Written documentation shall be signed and dated by an APBA Referee or other APBA official having reviewed the training.
      • When training is completed prior to October 1, training documentation shall be valid for the racing season the training was taken and for the following racing season ending October 31.
      • When training is completed during October, training documentation shall be valid for the racing season in which it was taken as well as the next two (2) racing seasons ending October 31st.

If the current membership card lists dates within the above criteria the driver’s training is current. If there is no date on the card and the driver is competing in a reinforced cockpit class, it is the driver’s responsibility to show current documentation. A receipt of the approved training was given to the driver when the training was completed. If you have any problems and/or questions, contact the Chief Referee.

For those going through capsule training please remeber to bring your capsule jacket. If you are new we will make arrangements for you to borrow one.

At the region meeting we will discuss up coming races, updates from the National meeting, and ideas of how to get new folks involeved in our sport.

I hope to see everyone there.

No problem Pat. Tentatively we have a race in Palmetto Florida on April 10 and Chattahoochee is scheduled for the weekend of May22. Both will have 120 and Mod U.

              Thanks!

                Bruce,

Are the 45's on the schedule for both of those races?

                Thanks,

                Steve.

Yes they are! We need to make sure that we have enough 45's to make the class. Steve please give me a call next week so that we can work on the boat count for 45's. I am spending some time in the Ocala area. 352 875-1014

Next week as in tomorrow or next week as in March 15th?

One unsolicited suggestion I have is give more laps, if possible.

Also, do you have an extra Champ tuner? I need one.

                    Thanks,

                    Steve.

                      As in this week.
I will need to look for the champ tuner when I get back home. I should have something that will at least get you started.
