Just spoke with Gene Engle and Lakeland is off for this year. But they have already reserved Lake Hollingsworth for the first weekend in March in 2011 and they plan to come back even better than ever.Comment

Prohydroracer, sure hope you are wrong. Things in Polk County have been bad, but we will turn the corner. Hope to see everyone at Ocoee this year and back to Lakeland next. Keep you chin up and think positive.Comment

Lakeland
Linda and others who are nearby at Lakeland ...can we get some idea of the cost for that event and whether there may be shared opportunities to host the Orange Cup - just a word to all - in the 70 plus years - Lakeland was not raced once during WW II and a dozen or so years ago when the lake level was too low following a lowering and dredge/improvement program for weed control ...
Linda, Dean, Gene, Rob, and the host of so many of you in the area - any options and other info you can share with us?
Seems that the beds and heads count at Lakeland is decent for this event - wonder what the priorities for the local sports sponsor may be for 2010 ...
Irrespective, truly a great loss if Gene and Linda have info that says absolutely no race this year!
